QUEENSLAND’S Tangalooma Island Resort has wrapped up a record-breaking whale watching season with a donation of $7,500 to the Kids’ Cancer Project (TKCP).
The donation represents $5 for every whale sighted from the resort’s whale watching vessel the Tangalooma Jet, marking a whopping 1,500 cetacean sightings this year.
This is the second season Tangalooma has partnered with TKCP, providing funds that helped boost the 24 scientific studies the charity has embarked upon nationally in the past two years.
Located on Moreton Island, the resort is also visited by dolphins, turtles, dugongs and stingrays.
