Emirates Group expands footprint in Australian travel.

Imagine Cruising has just confirmed the acquisition of Perth-based Holiday Planet, with the Emirates offshoot continuing its expansion in Australia after establishing an operation in Brisbane just 12 months ago.

Imagine Cruising is 51% owned by Emirates’ Dnata division, having been launched in 2011 by founder and ceo Robin Deller. The company is based in the UK and also has offices in Cape Town and Dubai as well as Brisbane and now Perth.

Holiday Planet was established in the early 2000s and operates a range of brands also including Flight Planet, Cruise Planet and Seniors Planet.

Holiday Planet md Alan Dodson will be remaining with the business following the acquisition, while the company’s operations director Michael Croy will retire.

Deller said “Holiday Planet is an excellent fit to Imagine Cruising as we look to grow further in Australia. Their expertise in offering a wide range of holidays, combined with our expertise in Cruise and Stay holidays, will provide a compelling offering to holidaymakers right across Australia.”
