were given two half-day touring
options this morning to choose
from, departing the township of
Vidin in Bulgaria, not far from the
border of Romania.
Options included visiting a self-supporting
farm in Romania or
an exploration of the Bulgarian
Red Rock Country, an activity
Travel Daily chose.
About an hour from Vidin, the
trip heads to the foothills of the
behemoth Balkan Mountains,
and stops at Belogradchik, not
far from the Serbian border.
The outcrop of rock formations
here date back more than 200
million years and were used as
forts over the centuries.
