Hotels in Vilnius are busier than ever. In the first eight months of 2025, international hotel chains in the Lithuanian capital reached an occupancy rate of 77.8%, ahead of Riga at 72% and Tallinn at 70.8%. The city also leads the Baltic region in revenue per available room and average daily rate, reflecting an upswing in travel demand.
This momentum is reinforced by global recognition and new openings. Lithuania earned its first two Michelin Keys this year, with Hotel PACAI in Vilnius among the honorees. Meanwhile, the modern AC Hotel by Marriott has just opened its doors in a key location – adjacent to both the Old Town and the modern business district.
“This is not only a success for our hotel sector but also a recognition of the entire country’s hospitality and tourism industry on the global stage. Vilnius is becoming a new center of gastronomy and hospitality in the Baltic region, attracting travelers from around the world who seek the highest quality”, said Vilma Daubarienė, Head of Tourism at Go Vilnius.
AC Hotel by Marriott Expands Vilnius’ Hotel Scene
The newly opened AC Hotel by Marriott, located in the historic St. Jacob’s hospital complex, overlooks the Neris River and is just a short walk from key Vilnius landmarks and the main business area. Combining contemporary style with a prime central location, the hotel offers 271 rooms and a modern conference center for up to 400 guests, catering to both business and leisure travellers.
The hotel’s common areas include a spacious bar, a cozy lounge with an amphitheater-style space, and “Saint Jacob’s” – the first Basque restaurant in Vilnius, run by chef Luis Lopez Comas.
“There is a growing demand for authentic experiences around the world, and travellers are looking for much more than just a place to stay. The opening of AC Hotel by Marriott in Vilnius is timely, as it aligns with global trends – it’s not only a place to stay, but a true center of experiences combining travel, business, gastronomy, and urban culture,” said Augustinas Barauskas, Partner at Apex Alliance Hotel Management, which operates the new hotel.

18th-Century Palace Hotel Earns Michelin Key
This autumn, two Lithuanian hotels – Hotel PACAI in Vilnius and Esperanza Resort & SPA near Trakai, nestled between the forests and lakes about 35 kilometres from Vilnius – became the first in the country to receive the Michelin Keys, the hotel industry’s equivalent of Michelin Stars. This prestigious new rating, introduced by the Michelin Guide, recognizes hotels that stand out for their authenticity, refined design, and impeccable service.
Set within the restored 18th-century Pacai Palace in Vilnius’ Old Town, Hotel PACAI blends Baroque heritage with contemporary elegance, offering a luxury experience deeply rooted in the city’s history and culture.

“Being recognized among the world’s best hotels is a tremendous honour not only for us but for Lithuania’s entire hospitality sector. It shows that our country is now visible on the global luxury hotel map. This recognition is both a great responsibility and a commitment to uphold the highest standards, nurture authentic service, and strengthen Lithuania’s reputation as a global centre of hospitality”, said Rūta Pulkauninkaitė-Macikė, General Manager of Hotel PACAI.
