Latvian airline airBaltic has announced an increase in its flight frequency between Copenhagen and Riga for the upcoming summer season. The airline will now offer 17 weekly flights between the two capitals, providing greater flexibility for both business and leisure travellers. This expansion aims to enhance connectivity between Denmark and Latvia and offer seamless connections to other European destinations through the Baltics’ largest hub.

Mantas Vrubliauskas, VP Network Management at airBaltic, stated, “Our presence and demand in Denmark continue to grow, and we are pleased to expand our network for the upcoming summer season. With up to three daily flights, the increased frequency will offer greater flexibility for both business and leisure travellers between the two countries, whilst also providing seamless connections to destinations across Europe and beyond.”

Morten Mortensen, Head of Airlines Sales at Copenhagen Airport, expressed his satisfaction with the increased frequencies, noting that Riga is a popular destination. He welcomed airBaltic’s growing ability to connect local passengers and those travelling beyond Riga through codeshare and interline partners via the Copenhagen hub.

airBaltic currently operates five direct routes from Denmark, including flights from Copenhagen to Riga and Tallinn, and from Billund to Riga, Tallinn, and Gran Canaria. The airline, which operates one of Europe’s youngest fleets with 51 Airbus A220-300 aircraft, is also the first European carrier to offer free high-speed SpaceX Starlink internet on its flights. This expansion is part of airBaltic’s ongoing commitment to providing a comfortable and enjoyable travel experience.
