WeTravel and Group Travel Odyssey Launch Strategic Partnership

The post WeTravel and Group Travel Odyssey Launch Strategic Partnership appeared first on TD (Travel Daily Media) Travel Daily Media.

WeTravel, the platform for multi-day travel businesses, has announced a strategic partnership with Group Travel Odyssey (GTO), a trusted provider of group travel software for tour operators. This collaboration marks a major milestone in WeTravel’s vision to build a connected, global supplier ecosystem in its platform, streamlining supplier discovery, pricing, contracting, and payments for group travel organizers.

As part of the partnership, WeTravel PRO users will gain access to GTO’s proprietary group supplier pricing database, which includes more than 26,000 U.S.-based suppliers. This supplier data—already loaded with preferred group rates—will be integrated into WeTravel’s platform via API, allowing operators to generate faster, more accurate quotes and improve trip planning efficiency.

“This partnership accelerates our vision to connect the multi-day travel industry with a unified supplier ecosystem,” said Ted Clements, CEO of WeTravel. “By improving supplier discovery, streamlining contracting and pricing, and expanding payment infrastructure, we’re making it easier for group travel companies to grow profitably while saving time and resources.”

The integration builds on WeTravel’s recent launch of its new operating system for multi-day travel, which redefined the company’s platform as an all-in-one solution to build, sell, and operate tours. The addition of GTO’s supplier pricing data enhances the OS by embedding real-time vendor insights into the same environment where operators already manage bookings, payments, itineraries, and communications.

WeTravel currently supports thousands of student group travel organizers on its platform. These customers use WeTravel to manage every aspect of their business—from client onboarding and installment payments to rooming lists and real-time messaging. With the addition of GTO’s group pricing insights, these organizers will now also benefit from faster supplier sourcing and quoting, helping them remain competitive and efficient.

“By integrating supplier pricing directly into the operational workflow through a partnership with GTO, we are empowering organizers—especially those in student and group travel in the U.S.—to make faster, more informed decisions. It brings greater transparency, efficiency, and equity to supplier access, helping businesses of all sizes deliver high-quality travel experiences while improving their bottom line.”

Govt urges Goa Taxi Operators to Join Goa Taxi App and GoaMiles

The post Govt urges Goa Taxi Operators to Join Goa Taxi App and GoaMiles appeared first on TD (Travel Daily Media) Travel Daily Media.

The Department of Tourism, Government of Goa, calls upon all local taxi operators to integrate with state-backed digital taxi platforms such as the Goa Taxi App and GoaMiles. This step aligns with the government’s broader vision to promote smart mobility, economic inclusion, and a tourist-friendly environment through regulated and transparent services.

Recognizing the critical role of transport in a thriving tourism ecosystem, the Government of Goa launched the Goa Taxi App — a unified, government-regulated platform designed to ensure safety, fair pricing, and efficiency. The app has transformed mobility across the state by bringing taxi operators under a seamless, tech-driven system.

Kedar Naik, Director of Tourism, stated: “The Goa Taxi App is not just a convenience tool — it represents a larger shift toward inclusive growth, safer commuting, and a more structured tourism experience. We urge all Goan taxi brothers to come onboard and make use of this free, government-supported platform that is designed especially to benefit them. It is not only about convenience for tourists but about creating more sustainable livelihood opportunities for our local communities.”

Since its launch at Manohar International Airport in January 2023, and subsequent expansion to Margao Railway Station in October 2023, the platform ensures convenience for passengers with real-time tracking, dynamic fare calculations based on notified rates, integration with Google Maps, and multiple payment options, the app Operators using the app benefit from a transparent and fair system that rewards professionalism — higher-rated drivers receive more bookings, and convenience fees are reinvested into welfare schemes for drivers and their families.

In parallel, GoaMiles, operated under the supervision of the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC), continues to be a trusted app-based aggregator. Since its inception in 2018, GoaMiles has helped position Goa as a cost-effective and responsible destination for domestic and international tourists alike.

Both the aggregator apps have facilitated 70,000+ rides and onboarded 1,000+ drivers within just over a year, continuing to serve commuters at regulated, tourist-friendly fares. These platforms ensure fair compensation aligned with government-notified rates and promote service quality through digital ratings and real-time monitoring.

The Department of Tourism reiterates its commitment to building a modern, inclusive tourism ecosystem where technology benefits all — from local drivers to global visitors. As Goa redefines its tourism identity through innovation and sustainability, regulated taxi services will play a key role in shaping positive travel experiences.

Company chief operating officer Chew Hang Song added: “These openings reflect our continued focus on operational excellence and local market relevance. The expansion of the Modena by Fraser brand presence in China addresses a clear gap in the extended stay segment, offering apartment-seekers trusted, reliable and purposefully designed living spaces, backed by over two decades of creating homes away from home.”

Adjusting to residents’ needs

Both properties offer flexible living spaces that adjust to residents’ needs, such as dedicated white zones that can be used for yoga, gaming, or other activities depending on individual preferences.

Practical kitchenettes provide everyday convenience, while communal areas are designed to encourage social interaction. These features are supported by regular community programmes that bring residents together.

These elements reflect Modena by Fraser’s approach to intuitive living, combining comfort, functionality, and a sense of belonging.

The additions of Modena by Fraser in Shenzhen and Shanghai mark the brand’s seventh and eighth property in China, representing another step forward in Frasers Hospitality’s efforts to deepen its presence in Mainland China and further strengthening its leadership in the extended-stay segment.

These properties are part of a larger expansion pipeline, reinforcing the group’s commitment to delivering lifestyle-driven residences across the region.

The city’s first Modena by Fraser property offers direct connectivity to Hong Kong and is mere minutes away from the Luohu, Wenjindu, and Liantang border crossings, and a short drive to Luohu Port.

It is also conveniently connected to the Shenzhen Metro via Lines 2, 5, and 8.

Among the lifestyle amenities are a pickleball court, alongside a gym, yoga studio, relaxation lounge, lobby café, and outdoor barbecue area, all designed to support active living and foster a connected community.

With its vibrant setting, thoughtful design, and award-winning service, Modena by Fraser Shenzhen presents a fresh option for cross-border professionals and leisure travellers alike.

Shanghai: Urban power and dynamism

Modena by Fraser Wujiaochang Shanghai offers a well-balanced lifestyle for business travellers and academics, blending inspiration, connectivity, and community in one of the city’s most bustling neighbourhoods.

Located in the heart of Yangpu District, in close proximity to the Wujiaochang commercial hub, Modena by Fraser Wujiaochang Shanghai is situated close to global tech companies, premium shopping centres, and top educational institutions, Fudan University and Tongji University.

The property recently had its soft opening last 20th May and offers 307 fully furnished studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments with sizes ranging from 23 to 66 sqm.

Designed to enhance productivity and relaxation, the property features a range of thoughtfully curated facilities from a tranquil landscaped garden at the entrance and a serene relaxation room to a yoga studio and gym equipped with state-of-the-art smart mirrors.

Guests can host business and social events in versatile meeting spaces and the stylish Common Room with amphitheatre seating.

For gourmet meals, the property’s restaurant serves up a delectable mix of Cantonese and local Shanghai cuisine promising a rich culinary experience.

Within easy access to multiple bus routes and Metro Lines 10 and 18, the residence fuses the energy of a creative academic community with exceptional urban convenience.

Philippines launches roadmap for gastronomic tourism

The post Philippines launches roadmap for gastronomic tourism appeared first on TD (Travel Daily Media) Travel Daily Media.

The Philippine Department of Tourism (DOT) launched a roadmap to position the country as a top food and gastronomy destination in Southeast Asia by 2029 last 28th May.

The Food and Gastronomy Tourism Strategic Framework and Roadmap 2024-2029 will help map out renowned cuisine hubs in key destinations such as Metro Manila, Pampanga, Cebu, and Iloilo.

The roadmap will help facilitate the creation of guidelines for food circuits across the country and help local governments curate travel routes, highlighting culinary diversity and local produce in these areas.

The developmental scheme also covers the development of specific food and gastronomy tourism segments such as farm, factory, and market tours.

A storied first

Tourism secretary Christina Frasco said this is the first time the government is incorporating food and gastronomy as a central pillar of the Philippine tourism strategy.

She said: “This is a historic moment. For the first time, gastronomy has been formally incorporated in the National Tourism Development Plan (NTDP), not as an afterthought, but as a central pillar of our tourism strategy.”

Frasco also underscored the huge potential of Filipino cuisine that every region has to offer as a motivation to attract both locals and foreigners to travel around the country.

The roadmap’s launch also featured the introduction of training modules to fast-track the development of market tourism in the Philippines, a sub-product of the country’s broader food and gastronomy tourism product.

The modules outline an action plan to train and equip tourism stakeholders to transform local markets into tourist attractions.

Food and Gastronomy Tourism will be classified as a sub-product under Cultural Tourism in the 2023-2028 NTDP, alongside historical and cultural heritage; arts; living; pilgrimage; and creative tourism.

The DOT envisions gastronomy tourism in the Philippines to become an experience that goes beyond trying out Filipino dishes and delving into the stories behind local ingredients, culinary traditions, and techniques.

Relevant authorities are set to develop this tourism product in a way that invites travelers to understand how centuries of trade, migration, colonisation, and cultural exchange have shaped the country’s diverse food identity.
