Michelin Bib Gourmand chef Miguel Cabel Moreno champions Southern Mindanao cuisine at Crimson Boracay

The post Michelin Bib Gourmand chef Miguel Cabel Moreno champions Southern Mindanao cuisine at Crimson Boracay appeared first on TD (Travel Daily Media) Travel Daily Media.

Palm Grill and Cabel chef-restaurateur Miguel Cabel Moreno personally handles the plating of his Amor del Mar seafood course

Filipino chef-restaurateur Miguel Cabel Moreno continued to advocate for the gastronomic culture of Mindanao at two four-hands culinary events staged at Crimson Resort and Spa Boracay.

Held on the evenings of 14th and 15th November, From Shore to South featured collaborations between Cabel Moreno and Crimson Boracay executive chef Nickolai Stoyanov and Philip Arroza, chef de cuisine at the resort’s Azure Beach Club.

Wines for the initial event at the resort’s Mosaic Latin American Grill on the 14th were provided by AWC Philippines.

The chef’s two restaurants in the Greater Manila Area, Cabel in Manila Proper and his flagship Palm Grill in Quezon City, were named among the establishments meriting the Michelin Guide’s Bib Gourmand appellation in its initial foray into the Philippines in late October.

Cabel Moreno said of the event: “I’m so grateful for this opportunity to be able to showcase the cuisines from where I come from, and I hope it translated in the plates that we put out. I also hope that, when diners step out of these beautiful restaurants, they will have a more positive and better view of Mindanao as a whole. Hopefully, they’ll want to try and visit Mindanao themselves.”

Cabel Moreno’s pianggang na manuk [chicken in a blackened coconut sauce] calls to mind the flavours beloved by the Philippines’ Pan-Malayan neighbours

Celebrating the unsung side of Philippine heritage

Proudly of the Tausug people of Southern Mindanao, born and raised in the province of Sulu, Cabel Moreno has long championed the cause for promoting Mindanaoan cuisine in the northern and central parts of the country, seeing how culinary culture in these areas skews more towards western influence as opposed to delving into the Philippines’ roots as part of the Pan-Malayan Peninsula.

Indeed, he has pointed out that his food reflects the cornerstone flavour profiles of the country’s peninsular neighbours Malaysia, Indonesia, and Brunei: richness and depth, piquant heat, a subtle sweetness, and acidity built more with natural ingredients like citrus as opposed to the chemical tang of vinegar.

As a result, Cabel Moreno integrates ingredients endemic to his home region into his cookery, as seen in the addition of a fiery Tausug sambal to a canape of baby squid served prior to the Mosaic dinner.

His seafood course Amor del Mar, which paired crisp-skinned grouper with grilled giant prawns, called to mind the Indonesian kari udang and the sweeter Balinese kari ikan, only with a more refined sweetness built with coconut milk peppered with Cabel Moreno’s own proprietary spice mix.

But it is the pianggang from the Azure dinner, Cabel Moreno’s signature dish from Palm Grill which is blackened chicken served with an unctuous burnt coconut sauce, that captures the region on a plate: Minadanaoan soul food for body and soul, served with a smoky mashed eggplant salad and golden rice cooked the Tausug way and reminiscent of nasi lemak – essentially Filipino pride unbowed by the conqueror’s blade, a missing link between a storied past and a present heavily influenced by foreign concepts.

The Amor del Mar is an homage to the wealth of seafood available in Mindanaoan waters

Quo vadis?

With the Philippines hosting the UN Tourism World Forum on Gastronomy Tourism next year, Cabel Moreno is one of the chefs who is working with the country’s Department of Tourism (DOT) to move the Filipino culinary heritage agenda towards the global stage.

In a separate interview with us, he said: “The DOT has long said that we have beautiful islands and beaches, but it’s the gastronomy that we need to promote and highlight this time. I agree with them on that because Thailand has been really successful [with regard to tourism promotion], not only because of their beautiful islands and beaches but because of their food.”

For this reason, he sees the arrival of the Michelin Guide in the country as a game-changer for the country, as well as a boost for culinary advocates like himself.

Indeed, as he looks towards the UN Tourism forum and other events wherein he can further push for his advocacy, Cabel Moreno says: “This is actually wonderful for me because it will again give foreigners more opportunities to discover us.”

Airbus: The Asia-Pacific will require 19,560 new aircraft over the next two decades

The post Airbus: The Asia-Pacific will require 19,560 new aircraft over the next two decades appeared first on TD (Travel Daily Media) Travel Daily Media.

Airbus released its latest regional market forecast on Saturday, 15th November, projecting that the Asia-Pacific aviation sector will require 19,560 new aircraft over the  next 20 years.

This demand represents 46 percent of the global requirement for 42,520 new aircraft  over the timeframe.

Anand Stanley, President of Airbus Asia-Pacific, presented the update during the Association  of Asia-Pacific Airlines’ (AAPA) Annual Assembly of Presidents in Bangkok, underscoring the  region’s continued growth and importance in the global aviation market.

Stanley remarked: “The Asia-Pacific region is entering an exciting phase of growth, fuelled by strong demand for  air travel and logistics. Airbus is committed to partnering with airlines across the region to deliver  innovative and sustainable fleet solutions.”

Fleet expansion and passenger traffic are spurring demand

The Asia-Pacific forecast, which includes China and India, reflects the region’s continued fleet  expansion, driven by rising passenger traffic.

The region is projected to see annual growth of 4.4 percent, outpacing the global average of 3.6 percent.

The region will continue to drive global demand for widebody types such as the A330neo and  A350 Family, with a requirement for around 3,500 aircraft; this represents 43 percent of global demand in the larger size categories.

Meanwhile, the forecast anticipates the need for 16,100 single-aisle aircraft, such as the A220 and A320neo Family, to support the region’s short-to medium haul routes.

Airbus estimates that nearly 68 percent of the aircraft deliveries will support fleet expansion, while 32 percent will replace older models, significantly contributing to decarbonisation efforts.

Likewise, the next  generation of Airbus widebody aircraft offers an immediate 25 percent improvement in fuel efficiency and a corresponding reduction in carbon emissions.

Forecast for cargo and passenger markets

Meanwhile, the cargo segment Asia-Pacific is projected to sustain a fleet of around 850 cargo  aircraft, representing roughly one-third of the global freighter fleet.

Of these, approximately 250 will be new-build aircraft, primarily widebodies, reflecting the strong and growing demand for  air freight across Asia–Pacific.

The all-new A350F, based on the proven A350 platform, is poised to meet this demand with  superior efficiency, reduced CO2 emissions, and best-in-class economics. The A350F also  complies with the latest ICAO emissions standards, positioning it as the frontrunner in the large  freighter market.

At the same time, the A350 has established itself in the passenger market as the leader for long range operations  out of the region, with some 315 A350s already in service in Asia and the Pacific.

The aircraft operate from the region on some of the longest flights in the world, including non-stop service  from Singapore to New York.

Likewise, the A330ceo replacement cycle is underway, with around 550 A330ceos  currently operating in the region.

The A330neo is positioned as the natural replacement,  offering a seamless transition for airlines, with commonality in pilot training and technical  operations between the two models.

Underwater Beginnings: How Childhood Diving Is Redefining Family Travel

The post Underwater Beginnings: How Childhood Diving Is Redefining Family Travel appeared first on TD (Travel Daily Media) Travel Daily Media.

The ocean is full of mysteries; Children need to be taught to explore with safety and sustainability in mind. The “Young Ocean Ambassadors: Kids Learning to Dive.” Introduces children to the wonders of the ocean albeit in a sustainable way.

Scuba diving introduces kids to new sensations, thrills, and an entirely new world. It is an adventure activity that can be safely undertaken by people. Children over 10 years old can enrol in the PADI Junior Open Water Diver course to become certified divers, and kids over 8 years old can participate in the PADI Bubblemaker scuba experience program. Based on age, they are qualified to dive only with a parent, guardian, or a PADI professional until they come of age, and the depth limits vary accordingly. PADI instructors are committed to look after children’s health, safety, and welfare, while emphasising safe diving practices to both kids and their parents.

Dive against debris

“Introducing children to the ocean world early on influences how they grow up. When young divers explore the underwater world, they see firsthand the adverse effects of pollution and climate change. It evokes a sense of wanting to protect what they cherish. Programs like Dive Against Debris and AWARE Shark Conservation teach them practical ways to help preserve the marine ecosystems. They adopt sustainable habits even before they can fully grasp the concept of sustainability. They become young ambassadors of the ocean.” Says Vinod Bondi, PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) Regional Manager, India

PADI Junior AmbassaDivers are certified divers aged between 10 and 17, who voice for ocean conservation in their respective schools and communities. For instance, in India, Ashrita has been actively involved in a project to develop a drone prototype that could monitor marine ecosystems. Such ocean Torchbearers become inspiring individuals to other children and adults alike,” adds Bondi.

Connecting with the marine world in a personal way

“Children tend to be naturally curious about the world they live in. Unique experiences such as scuba diving amplify their curiosity and enthusiasm to learn. Kids who are certified divers connect with the marine world on a personal level, far beyond what books or media can offer. They understand marine life behaviour – and the animal kingdom at large – through direct observation. Therefore, a respect for the marine ecosystems naturally develops in young divers,” he says.

Discovering the joy of underwater exploration

Scuba diving is often a holiday or weekend activity, and many people enrol in diving courses as families. PADI course materials are designed for easy comprehension, regardless of age. When teaching children, PADI instructors often spend extra time explaining concepts in ways kids can understand, and families get to see their children learning outside a typical classroom setting. Several instructors engage with kids at their level, becoming trusted mentors, and sometimes, friends. Such interactions foster discipline and a greater willingness to follow instructions in kids. When children are part of a class, the PADI instructor-to-student ratio is reduced and the number of kids in a class is restricted.

“Diving offers something different for everyone even when it is a shared activity, and PADI instructors know how to personalise the experience for each individual. With kids, they might engage in fun underwater games, while with adults, they might introduce interests like underwater photography. Everyone ends up with a different takeaway from the same dive,” emphasises Bondi.

PADI Junior Open Water Diver courses

“At Intrinity Divers, we offer slower paced one-on-one PADI Junior Open Water Diver courses. The smaller ratios and in person knowledge development allows the child to build confidence and trust in their instructor and create good communication flows between the instructor/student buddy team. This then translates effortlessly underwater in the pool and ocean.

We also actively teach dive theory in our classroom. We augment PADI core materials with kid friendly videos, infographics, and a supportive teaching style to make sure kids have the space to learn and ask questions. Parents are encouraged to join their children’s ocean experience, either above the water or below,” says Rachel Hyde, Director and Co-founder of Intrinity Divers, Bali, Indonesia.

“At Kids Scuba, we focus on creating family-centric experiences. Inclusivity extends to making the experience enjoyable and stress-free for the entire family. We offer programs and packages designed in a way for parents, guardians and children to learn and dive together, fostering shared exploration and bonding. Kids Scuba instructors and scuba educators are highly experienced in teaching and interacting with children, creating a patient, encouraging, and performance-based learning environment where kids can progress at their own pace. Through our renowned Kids Scuba camp, we offer high-quality, supervised training for kids. Our qualified dive pros help parents feel comfortable and confident, allowing the adults to have a more relaxed experience as well,” says Syed Abdul Rahman, Founder, Kids Scuba, Malaysia.

Inspired by ‘The Little Mermaid’

Children’s Day is celebrated every year on 14th November in India. So we got in touch with Ashrita Gachumale, PADI Junior AmbassaDiver who is passionate about diving! Telling us about her journey of falling in love with diving she says: “I did my first dive back when I was completely obsessed with Ursula and her moray eels, Flotsam and Jetsam, from The Little Mermaid. I was convinced that if I dove deep enough, I’d find her lair, potions swirling around her, as she sang “poor unfortunate souls”. Unfortunately, I did not get to see Ursula, but I did see real octopuses and eels! Being underwater blurred the lines between fiction and reality; it was calm, weightless and strangely familiar. For the first time, the ocean wasn’t a story or a song; it was real, and I was a part of it.”

Sometimes, it’s pure adrenaline, sometimes it is quiet and peaceful

“Since then, I’ve dived all across South Asia, swimming alongside manta rays, moon jellies, and lemon sharks. Each dive felt like stepping into a whole new world. Every dive felt different; sometimes, it’s pure adrenaline, sometimes it is quiet and peaceful. Diving has a way of putting everything into perspective. The deeper I went, the more I realised how much life existed beyond what we see on surface. Underwater, everything is balanced in its own rhythm, and we just move with it. That mix of calm, awe, and belonging is what made me adore diving. I never ended up meeting Ursula or her eels, but I did find my own place and became a part of her world.”

You learn patience, focus, and respect

Her message to other children is: “Diving is one of those things every child should experience. It changes the way you see the world. When you’re underwater, everything slows down. You learn patience, focus, and respect for everything around you. You start to notice small things, like how sand shifts during a current or how fish move with perfect coordination. With proper training and supervision, diving is completely safe. It helps kids build confidence in unfamiliar environments and gives them a sense of independence that’s hard to find elsewhere. You’d have to trust your instincts, pay rapt attention and stay calm even when something unexpected happens. That sense of control and independence builds slowly and sticks with you long after the dive ends.”

Diving also makes kids curious in the best way possible. The ocean feels alive; everything has a purpose and is interconnected. It naturally makes you want to know more. I’ve seen kids who dive start asking better questions and become more observant in general. It is also a great reset; there’s no screens, no noise, no rush. It’s peaceful, but never boring. The ocean teaches us that there’s always more to explore and learning doesn’t stop when you leave classrooms.”

Wonder and curiosity can lead to real action

Talking about the life lessons she has learnt from diving she said: “Diving taught me lessons I use every day. It taught me patience and quick problem solving. Underwater conditions change constantly— currents shift and visibility decreases. I’ve learnt to observe closely and think quickly to find solutions. These skills help me at school and in projects I take on. Diving taught me to observe carefully and adapt.”

“Diving has also taught me responsibility and respect. Seeing coral reefs and marine life up close shows how everything is connected. Even small actions can have a big impact on the environment. Diving made me more aware of my choices. Most importantly, diving gave me the belief that wonder and curiosity can lead to real action.”

“That is what inspired me to start my non-profit BhūVyom in 2022. It is where I raise awareness about marine conservation, space science, and climate change via engaging arts, storytelling and folklore at underprivileged schools in landlocked cities. So far, we’ve conducted 200+ workshops and reached 600+ students, helping them understand marine ecosystems, climate change and conservation in a hands-on and creative way. Every dive reminds me to be patient, observant and responsible. Diving didn’t just teach me about the underwater world— it taught me how curiosity can turn into real impact and it made me patient, resilient, and responsible. She concludes.”

Hospitality and real estate fuel Phuket’s economic transformation

The post Hospitality and real estate fuel Phuket’s economic transformation  appeared first on TD (Travel Daily Media) Travel Daily Media.

Phuket is rewriting its story as it rises to become one of Asia’s most compelling real estate and hospitality investment frontiers.

A surge of institutional capital, the rise of branded residences, and the blurring lines between living and staying are transforming what it means to build, own, and operate in one of the world’s most recognized resort destinations.

According to C9 Hotel works managing director Bill Barnett: “Phuket is moving beyond tourism toward becoming a world community. What’s happening here illustrates how the convergence of real estate and hotels is reshaping resort economies across Asia. The next growth story will be written at this intersection.”

This intersection is the primary focus of the upcoming Phuket Real Estate Forum 2025 hosted by C9 Hotelworks in collaboration with Delivering Asia and the FazWaz/Dot Property Group.

Centred on the theme Inside the Rise: The Forces Driving Phuket’s New Real Estate Development, the forum will convene many of the industry’s leading figures to explore the economic and social dynamics powering Phuket’s evolution.

Who’s who at the forum

Among the headline speakers are Proudputh Liptapanlop of Proud Real Estate, Titiwat Kuviitsuwan of Capstone Asset, Boon Yongsakul of Boat Pattana, Omar Romero of Minor Hotels, and Poomchai Mattayompoppinyo of Sansiri Plc, who will discuss capital flows and confidence in the island’s fundamentals.

Their conversation will be complemented by creative voices such as Martin Palleros of Tierra Design, the architects of Gardens of Eden, and Clint Nagata of BLINK Design Group, exploring how sustainability and place-making are influencing tomorrow’s development blueprint.

Other topics will dive into the surge of co-living and serviced apartments, including Adeline Phua of The Ascott Limited, the rise of vacation homeshare platforms like ThirdHome, featuring CEO Wade Shealy, and alternative finance models such as rent-to-own and crypto transactions that are redefining property ownership.

Each reflects a broader truth: the resort real estate market is no longer built on short-term speculation, but on integrated ecosystems that blend residence, investment, and experience.

The Phuket Real Estate Forum 2025 is part of The C9 Sessions, an ongoing initiative designed to educate the industry, inspire innovation, and encourage entrepreneurial collaboration.

For real estate developers, hotel owners, investors, and consultants, it promises not just another panel discussion but a front-row view of how Asia’s resort economies are being redefined from the ground up.

The Phuket advantage

Phuket’s transformation is part of a wider pattern emerging across Asia’s resort markets, where destinations such as Bali, Da Nang, and Samui are also seeing renewed investor interest tied to long-stay migration and remote work.

Yet Phuket’s advantage lies in its scale, infrastructure, and brand recognition: qualities that continue to attract capital even amid global uncertainty.

For Barnett, understanding this next chapter requires new thinking.

He opines: “The property sector here is no longer just about selling a view of the beach,” he says. “It’s about creating community, long-term yield, and sustainable value. That’s why we’re bringing together voices from real estate, finance, and hospitality because these worlds can no longer operate in silos.”

Points to ponder

Bangkok and international developers are earmarking billions of dollars for Phuket, with recent entries including Bangkok’s Proud Real Estate, whose The Residences at InterContinental Phuket Resort project is valued at approximately US$70 million; Capstone Asset who are launching Peylaa Phuket, Autograph Collection Residences US$120.5 million (3.9 billion THB); and Phuket-based Boat Pattana have multiple new projects.

International developers include Dubai-Thai Amal Group of Companies’ Gardens of Eden project, with an investment value of US$315 million, and Hong Kong’s LFK Group’s third Phuket project, Sudara.

The shift is not lost also on international new-economy players such as ThirdHome, the world’s largest luxury home exchange platform, launching in the region this month and eyeing Phuket as central to their expansion.

Harbinger of change

Experts claim that the evolution is not just a market trend but it’s a reflection of a deeper structural change.

As travel demand diversifies and new resident communities take root, Phuket is moving beyond its identity as a short-stay destination to become a year-round global hub.

Developers and investors are responding by blending hotel-grade services with residential projects, creating a new class of “ownable hospitality” that merges lifestyle, flexibil

ity, and long-term value.

Emirates to launch third daily service to Nairobi

The post Emirates to launch third daily service to Nairobi appeared first on TD (Travel Daily Media) Travel Daily Media.

Building on Emirates’ 30th anniversary of operations to Kenya it has announced a third daily flight to Nairobi, commencing 1st March 2026. With the additional frequency, the Kenyan capital will be served with 21 Emirates flights per week, connecting travellers to Dubai, and onwards to the airline’s vast global network of close to 150 destinations.

The new flight complements Emirates’ existing schedule into Nairobi, adding an early morning arrival and departure to enhance two-way connectivity with key European destinations, including the UK, France, Norway and Italy, as well as the US. By creating easier access from key markets, the additional frequency will further support Kenya’s tourism goals, which aim to attract 5 million international tourists by 2030. EK717 will depart Dubai at 00:55 hrs, arriving at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at 05:05 hrs; the return flight, EK718, will depart Nairobi at 06:50 hrs and arrive in Dubai at 12:50 hrs.

In recent months, Emirates has been operating its double daily flights at a healthy seat factor, underlining the growing demand for air travel. The third daily service, operated on a three-class Boeing 777, will boost Emirates’ capacity and provide more access to the airline’s world-class product and services, including its First Class cabins, which Emirates exclusively operates in and out of the city.

The new flight schedule has been optimised for connectivity with key flights operated by Kenya Airways, enabling seamless onward travel to top regional destinations such as Rwanda, Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Mozambique and Burundi. Since signing the agreement in 2023, over 31,000 passengers have benefited from the interline partnership between the two airlines, with a near 50/50 split of bookings, highlighting the mutual benefits for both Emirates and Kenya Airways customers.

Beyond passenger travel, the additional flight will also boost the transportation of goods to and from Kenya, with an additional 280 tonnes of capacity weekly in and out of Nairobi via the belly of the Boeing 777. The early morning departure will be particularly beneficial for the movement of time- and temperature-sensitive perishable commodities like fresh fruits, vegetables and flowers.

Kenya and the UAE have deep-rooted and mutually beneficial bilateral and economic relations, headlined by the signing of a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement earlier this year. Emirates SkyCargo, the airline’s freight division, has played a key role in facilitating global trade with Kenya, operating three weekly freighters into Nairobi, in addition to the soon-to-be three daily passenger flights offering a total weekly capacity of over 1,100 tonnes in and out of the market.

In October, Emirates marked 30 years of service to Nairobi, following the inaugural flight in 1995. Since then, the airline has carried over 6.6 million passengers to and from the country, forging key inbound traffic from South Korea, China, Thailand and Australia as well as ultra-long-haul passengers travelling from the US. The outbound traffic is similar, with destinations such as Shanghai and Beijing, China; Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney, Australia; and Seattle, New York and Washington proving popular with travellers from Kenya.

In 2024, Emirates opened Africa’s first Emirates World store in Nairobi, introducing the airline’s refined retail store experience to the region for the first time. Featuring immersive product displays and an expert team to provide travel consultation and bookings, the store further elevates Emirates’ world-class customer experience, on-ground.

Bookings for all three daily flights on the Dubai-Nairobi route are open now, on emirates.com, Emirates Retail Stores, the Emirates app, and preferred travel agencies.

US short-term rentals set to finish 2025 on a high: Key Data

The post US short-term rentals set to finish 2025 on a high: Key Data appeared first on TD (Travel Daily Media) Travel Daily Media.

Representative Image

The US short-term rental market is closing 2025 on a high, with holiday travel demand helping operators finish the year with stronger rates, higher revenue, and growing traveler confidence. New analysis from short-term rental analytics company Key Data shows the sector gaining strong momentum heading into winter.

Melanie Brown, VP Data Analytics and Insights, said: “What we’re seeing in the winter data is a market that’s steadied itself after a long period of correction. Forward-looking bookings for December show the highest rate and revenue growth of the year, with ADR pacing 6% higher and RevPAR up 7% year over year. That’s a clear sign that confidence has returned, both from travelers who are still willing to pay for quality, and from managers who’ve held their ground on pricing. Even with shorter booking windows and increasingly brief trips, operators have adapted fast. They’re leaning on smarter tools, sharper data, and stronger value propositions, and that’s what’s putting the industry back on solid footing heading into 2026.”

The Autumn 2025 Vacation Rental Market Report, released today, reveals that forward-looking bookings for December point to the strongest national gains of the year, with Revenue per Available Rental (RevPAR) projected to rise 7% year over year and Average Daily Rates (ADR) pacing 6% higher1. November ADRs are also pacing 5% higher year over year, confirming that guests remain willing to pay for quality and space even as trip lengths shorten.

After a volatile year, the December projections mark the clearest sign yet of a stabilizing market. Travelers are paying more per night, managers are holding firm on pricing, and data suggests a decisive return of confidence as the year closes.

Regional strength heading into the holidays

The December uplift is being driven by a mix of classic holiday destinations and resilient year-round markets:

  • New England: RevPAR +5% year over year
  • Hawaiian Islands: RevPAR +5%
  • Rocky Mountains: RevPAR +4%
  • Midwest US: RevPAR +4%

Elsewhere, performance has largely stabilized. The Southwest continues to post RevPAR growth of +3% despite rate pressure, while the Southeast remains broadly flat (–1%) following a competitive summer.

Shorter trips, later bookings

Behind the recovery, traveler behavior continues to evolve. Guests are booking closer to arrival and staying for shorter periods, with the average December stay length downfrom 6.6 to 6.0 nights, a 9% drop year over year. Booking windows have also compressed by around 5% in most months, even in peak periods, reflecting a shift toward more spontaneous, flexible travel.

For property managers, agility and automation are now essential. Operators that adapt flexible pricing and efficient turnover processes are best placed to capture this last-minute demand and sustain revenue performance through the winter.

Outlook: confidence returning

With December’s RevPAR and ADR on track to reach their highest levels of 2025, Key Data says the short-term rental market is heading into 2026 from a position of strength.

The Tower of London, England

Standing proudly by the River Thames, the Tower of London has witnessed over 1000 years of British history. Built originally by William the Conqueror in 1078, this fortress has served as a royal palace, prisons and even a zoo. If you’re visiting today, you can explore its ancient walls, its famous crows and the dazzling crown jewels, whilst listening to tales of betrayal, deceit and execution. From Anne Boleyn’s tragic story to the legend of the ravens, the Tower is a gem of London and represents its long-standing history and remains one of the country’s most captivating sites. This is a must-see for anyone who loves London history or just anyone who wants a glimpse of the infamous Crown Jewels.

Edinburgh Castle, Scotland

Perched high above the Scottish capital, Edinburgh Castle is a standout in the city’s skyline. This mighty fortress has been a royal residence, a military stronghold and a symbol of Scottish identity for centuries. The main highlights of the castle include the Stone of Destiny, used in the coronation of Scottish kings and St Margaret’s Chapel, the oldest and longest surviving building in the whole of Edinburgh Castle. A UNESCO World Heritage site, the castle, known as the defender of the nation, remains an active military base with its cannons and ramparts. When in the castle, you receive sweeping views across the city, making it a must-see for anyone wanting to understand the deep history of Scotland, and also those who would like to see Edinburgh from new heights, as well as the Scottish Highlands.

Stonehenge, England

Few places are as steeped in history as Stonehenge, the prehistoric circle of stone in Salisbury, England. Dating back over 4,500 years, its purpose and origins remain a puzzle to most historians and scientists. Something that it is a temple, whilst others believe that it is a burial site or even an astronomical calendar. However you would like to see it, Stonehenge is a feat and masterpiece of ancient engineering from the imagination of those long before. Visitors can walk around the site and also get guided tours to funny understand the context of Neolithic life. Being able to stand where early Britons have centuries before, where they once gathered and celebrated, is an awe-inspiring experience, not to be missed.
Roman Baths, England
The Roman Baths in the city of Bath offer a rare glimpse into the city’s Roman past. Built around the natural hot springs of the area, this impressive social and spiritual hub was created nearly 2000 years ago. The baths are preserved in 4 main features: the sacred springs, the Roman temple, the Roman bath house and a museum that holds artefacts from the Aquae Sulis. Visitors can wander through the ancient chambers, see original Roman paving stones and learn about the bathing rituals that shaped Roman life in Roman Britain. Still to this day, the striking great bath is still filled with steaming thermal water that flows from the sacred spring all those years ago, although it can not be used as it used to.

Conwy Castle, Wales

Built by Edward I in the late 13th century, Conwy Castle is one of Wales’ most impressive medieval fortresses as it is exceptionally well-preserved and remains almost completely intact. Its massive stone walls and eight towering turrets rise dramatically above the river Conwy, offering breathtaking views of the town and estuary below. Today, visitors can walk along the battlements and explore the great halls and chambers where knights once dined.
