Aston Martin Aramco launches simulator to recreate F1 racing

The post Aston Martin Aramco launches simulator to recreate F1 racing  appeared first on TD (Travel Daily Media) Travel Daily Media.

Aston Martin Aramco F1® Team is bringing its fans closer than ever to the experience of becoming an F1® driver, with the launch of brand-new motion simulators.

Motion simulators are created by an expert team at Memento Exclusives – the memorabilia specialist based in Motorsport Valley – utilising the same processes as F1® teams, to offer an unrivalled racing experience. Designed to recreate the famous race cars seen on the tracks, these Aston Martin Aramco’s Motion Simulators boast high tech systems which aim to immerse the racer, offering them the chance to experience every twist and turn around iconic racing circuits.

Aston Martin Aramco F1® Team and Memento Exclusives have made simulators available to the public in iconic racing green before, but adding movement to the simulation experience is set to take sim racing to new heights. Each motion simulator has been developed in partnership with the race team at Silverstone, and features haptic actuators, a front pivot configuration and haptic rumble feedback. This advancement offers gamers and racers true authenticity, with the motion of a real F1® car accurately emulated from the moment they jump into the cockpit.

Motion simulators are just one of the ways Aston Martin Aramco F1® Team is innovating with technology in recent times. Lance Stroll has been noted for his sim work over the years and revealed ahead of the 2023 Bahrain Grand Prix that he partially rehabilitated a broken wrist by practicing in a simulator. He famously went on to finish sixth in that race. Spanish legend Fernando Alonso, who recently celebrated his 400th Grand Prix at the 2024 Mexico City Grand Prix, has also lent his voice to emerging technology with Ai.lonso – offering visitors to the Aston Martin Aramco website the ability to hear selected articles read in his voice in multiple languages.

Barry Gough, CEO & Founder of Memento Exclusives (F1 Authentics) commented: “We are delighted to announce the next phase in our partnership with Aston Martin Aramco; these motion simulators take sim racing to the next level, providing gamers and racers with the closest experience to racing an actual F1 car. This launch, commemorating Fernando Alonso’s 400th Grand Prix and recognising Lance Stroll’s history with simulators, is a testament to this partnership and the technological advancements here at Memento Exclusives, offering new ways for fans to own the moment.”

Matt Chapman, Head of Licensing and Merchandise, Aston Martin Aramco Formula One® Team: “This is a really exciting collaboration with our partner Memento Exclusives, bringing the world of Formula One to life for sim racers, collectors and our fans alike. The look and feel of the motion simulator makes it an immersive experience and the addition of movement builds upon the previous simulators we have collaborated on together.”

Accor and Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation renew cooperative partnership

The post Accor and Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation renew cooperative partnership appeared first on TD (Travel Daily Media) Travel Daily Media.

The Accor Group announced the renewal of its cooperative partnership with Vietnam’s Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation, a non-profit organisation working to eradicate human trafficking in the country.

The two organisations have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU), which will further strengthen their collaboration in the fight against human trafficking in Vietnam.

As part of the MOU, Accor will also donate excess or used equipment, including furniture and technology, to be used in Blue Dragon’s centres and home improvement projects.

Furthermore, skills and job training will be provided for young adults to create pathways to sustainable employment.

Beyond donations and training, Accor will also provide expert advice on building maintenance, safety checks, and design layouts for new or refurbished Blue Dragon facilities.

The company will even offer its hotel meeting rooms for Blue Dragon events, where officials and stakeholders involved in the fight against human trafficking will come together to drive further action.

Raising funds for freedom

Following the successful participation of Accor employees in Vietnam at last year’s Blue Dragon Marathon Walk fundraising events, which raised Over US$8,600 to rescue six women from human trafficking, 2,000 of their colleagues from Accor hotels and resorts in Asia participated in this year’s fundraising efforts across Vietnam.

The events raised nearly US$40,000 to rescue people from human trafficking, reunite them with their families, and provide essential support for their reintegration.

Such support mechanisms covered include emergency shelter, nutrition, psychological counselling, travel expenses, and access to medical treatment and legal representation.

The funds will also help students from remote areas attend life skills training and workshops to protect themselves from human trafficking.

AYANA Bali’s SAKA Museum recognised at Kyoto Global Design Awards

The post AYANA Bali’s SAKA Museum recognised at Kyoto Global Design Awards appeared first on TD (Travel Daily Media) Travel Daily Media.

SAKA Museum, AYANA Bali’s innovative cultural hub and knowledge centre committed to preserving and promoting the island’s vibrant living heritage, was named among the Top 100 in this year’s Kyoto Global Design Awards.

The museum’s interior designers, Napp Studio & Architects, were recognized in the Environmental Design category, which emphasises a project’s harmonious integration with its natural surroundings.

The honour comes just three months after SAKA Museum was included in Time Magazine‘s World’s Greatest Places 2024.

The Kyoto Global Design Awards recognize excellence across diverse design fields, spotlighting projects that excel in both aesthetics and environmental responsibility.

Reflecting on SAKA Museum’s recognition at the Kyoto Global Design Awards, its director Judith Bosnak expressed gratitude for Napp Studio’s dedication to creating an exceptional cultural experience rooted in authenticity and environmental awareness.

Bosnak said: “This recognition celebrates the ingenuity of our entire SAKA Museum team, while also underscoring the profound importance of sustainable, accessible, and cutting-edge venues for cultural learning.”

Casting the spotlight on Balinese heritage

Hong Kong-based Napp Studio & Architects designed SAKA Museum, their biggest project to date, to reflect Bali’s distinct spiritual and cultural landscape with a state-of-the-art approach.

Their captivating interior translates traditional Balinese Hindu philosophies and motifs with a contemporary yet timeless appeal, which speaks to both local and international audiences across generations.

Co-founders Aron Tsang and Wesley Ho drew on Nyepi, the island’s annual Day of Silence, to guide visitors through a serene, introspective experience.

The museum’s lobby features a dark, subtly lit ceiling resembling the constellations of Bali’s night sky. The space transitions to a soft glow at sunset, when 3,000 LED lights begin to twinkle, an effect achieved through a carefully arranged grid of lights that ingeniously conceals structural elements and fixtures.

Napp Studio & Architects maximised the use of local materials such as gray granite flooring and volcanic rock to harmonise with Bali’s natural landscape, reduce the project’s environmental footprint, and strengthen ties to the community.

According to the studio founders: “Our concept aimed to capture the essence of Nyepi, using lighting, local materials, and a colour palette that invites calm reflection, forming spaces that aren’t fixed but are open to personal interpretation.”

Meanwhile, SAKA Museum’s Knowledge Centre, a resource and artefact hub for conservationists, artists, researchers and students, was designed in a warmer palette evoking a wooden chest.

The only one of its kind on the island, the Knowledge Centre strengthens AYANA Bali’s mission of celebrating Bali’s cultural identity and encouraging deeper engagement with all its aspects in a modern environment.

Taipei Taoyuan Airport goes with SITA technologies for passenger processing

The post Taipei Taoyuan Airport goes with SITA technologies for passenger processing appeared first on TD (Travel Daily Media) Travel Daily Media.

The Taipei Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) recently partnered with travel tech solutions firm SITA to revolutionise its passenger processing solutions.

TPE will install SITA’s game-changing check-in kiosk solutions to enable passengers to zoom through the airport and on to their destination faster than ever before.

The kiosks bring innovation to the check-in desk, helping passenger processing become a state-of-the-art feature of the airport experience.

What does this partnership entail?

The deal, which runs until 2033, shows SITA’s commitment to improving airport IT solutions and the passenger experience, through scalable, efficient systems that meet the needs of modern airports.

With the new check-in and baggage handling processes, TPE will reduce wait times and improve overall airport efficiency.

TPE chose SITA to provide its Local Departure Control System (LDCS), Common Use Terminal Equipment (CUTE) and Common Use Self-Service (CUSS) systems, including a full hardware refresh of 80 check-in kiosks to support all international flights in Terminals 1 and 2.

A necessary acquisition

The purchase of SITA’s technology comes at a crucial time for the aviation industry in Taiwan.

Global passenger numbers are set to double to 10bn by 2040, and TPE needs to meet this growing demand, maintaining the highest level of security while improving overall airport efficiency.

Sumesh Patel, SITA APAC president, emphasised the importance of this partnership.

Patel said: “Our focus at SITA is to deliver technology solutions that help airport operators better manage their infrastructure in a way that is both optimal and makes the journey smoother for passengers. Airports around the world are facing challenges on many fronts, from staffing to efficiency, and improving the overall passenger experience. Taipei can become a pioneer in the Asian market in terms of digitalization and innovation, becoming an example for others in an ever-evolving travel industry.

Taipei Airport Operation Committee chair Nelson Wang added: “As part of our improvement program, the smart use of technology will maximise our existing infrastructure, and provide our passengers with a world-class experience, while supporting our airline customers in managing their operations more efficiently. SITA’s CUSS and CUTE systems are key to meeting our ambitions – from managing the flow of passengers through our terminals to making all of our passengers’ journeys smoother and more efficient.”
