IHG Hotels & Resorts has expanded its partnership with Agilysys, approving the company’s InfoGenesis point-of-sale (POS) platform for use across its global portfolio. This collaboration will see Agilysys providing its cloud-native, omnichannel enterprise POS solutions to IHG’s various hotel segments, including Luxury & Lifestyle, Premium, Essentials, Suites, and Partner brands such as Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza.
Andrea Cole, Vice President of Hotel Technology for IHG, highlighted the importance of this development, stating, “IHG has made several investments in modern, connected technology to enhance performance for our hotels. Approving Agilysys InfoGenesis as a point-of-sale (POS) option for our hotels is part of our initiative to offer a best-in-class suite of technology for IHG hotels.”
The InfoGenesis POS platform is designed specifically for the hospitality industry, offering a unified experience across food-and-beverage, retail, and other service areas. It supports iOS, Windows, and Android devices, allowing for secure mobile transactions and on-demand self-service ordering. This flexibility is crucial for operations in diverse environments such as rooftops, poolside cabanas, and guest rooms.
Joe Youssef, Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Agilysys, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, saying, “This agreement reflects our shared commitment to curating exceptional guest experiences and enabling staff efficiencies through innovation, scalability and loyalty.”
The integration of InfoGenesis with IHG’s property management systems will streamline operations, providing staff with real-time access to guest transactions and enabling room charges across all outlets. This move aims to enhance service speed and payment flexibility, ultimately improving the guest experience.
