Royal Air Maroc is set to launch its first nonstop service between Los Angeles and Casablanca on 7 June 2026, marking a significant milestone in air connectivity between Africa and the US West Coast. The route will operate three times a week, providing an 11-hour connection that caters to the growing demand for intercontinental travel, particularly ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
The new service aims to serve a diverse range of passengers, including the Moroccan and African diasporas, American tourists, business travellers, and football fans travelling to the US for the global event. Hamid Addou, Chairman and CEO of Royal Air Maroc, stated, “This direct route to Los Angeles is much more than a new destination; it marks a historic milestone for Royal Air Maroc and for air connectivity across the African continent.”
The flights will be operated by the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, known for its comfort and advanced technology, enhancing the travel experience for passengers. This expansion is part of Royal Air Maroc’s strategic development plan, which includes fleet expansion and the opening of new routes.
Royal Air Maroc already serves several North American cities, including New York, Washington DC, Miami, Montreal, and Toronto. The addition of Los Angeles complements increased frequencies on other strategic long-haul routes. This move reinforces Royal Air Maroc’s leadership in African aviation and strengthens Morocco’s position as a global hub, especially in anticipation of the FIFA World Cup 2030, which Morocco will co-host with Spain and Portugal.
