CATO, Star NTIA prizes

ATTENDEES at this weekend’s 2018 National Travel Industry Awards will have the opportunity to win a host of holidays, with members of the Council of Australian Tour Operators (CATO) joining forces with the Star Alliance for the first time to offer guests trips including flights and tours across the globe.

Star Alliance member carriers have had a strong presence at the NTIAs for a number of years, but 2018 marks the first time the generous flight prizes have been linked with land content via the “napkin ring” lucky draw.

CATO md Brett Jardine said the organisation had been supporting travel agents for over 20 years.

“We are delighted to join Star Alliance in creating these fabulous NTIA prizes that express the appreciation and admiration we have for our retail partners.”

The lavish promotion includes trips for two to destinations such as Phuket, Beijing, Canada, Mexico, the USA, Switzerland, Asia and South Africa, with participating carriers including Thai Airways, Air China, Air Canada, United, Air New Zealand, Singapore Airlines, Lufthansa, Eva Air and South African Airways.

CATO members providing the land content include Peregrine, On The Go Tours, Cosmos, Club Med, Globus, Insight Vacations, Expedia TAAP and Bench Africa.

Star Alliance country steering committee chair Tim Clyde-Smith of SAA said “in the air or on the ground Star Alliance is always looking for ways to set new benchmarks for excellence.

“With the help of CATO’s members we are once again raising the bar when it comes to making the 2018 National Travel Industry Awards the best ever.”
