ASIA Pacific countries proved popular with Airbnb travellers between Jun and Aug, claiming nine of the top 16 destinations for the period.
China emerged as one of the platform’s fastest-growing markets, and claimed the top three cities to visit.
Compared to the same period in 2016, the highest growth destinations were Hangzhou (495%), Chongqing (388%) and Wuhan (371%).
Next was Vinales, Cuba (347%), Patuto, Philippines (274%) and Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia (214%).
Meanwhile, Airbnb has released the most wish-listed properties in Australia and NZ.
Top properties include an “igloo” in Trinity Beach, Qld, a Melbourne CBD apartment and a treehouse in the Blue Mountains.
