TD breaking news – AFTA cancels ATAS accreditation of five agencies

Accredited participants failed to renew on time.

The Australian Federation of Travel Agents has just confirmed the immediate cancellation of the ATAS accreditation of five travel intermediaries after they failed to renew their participation in the scheme within the required timeline.

The affected agencies are:

– Cruise Addict Pty Ltd

– Check Us Out Travel

– Japan Snow Accommodation

– Helping Hand Group

– Wombat Trip

AFTA said there were further “imminent” cancellations in relation to ATAS accredited participants failing to demonstrate they can meet the criteria laid out in the ATAS charter in relation to renewing on time, supplying required documentation or demonstrating solvency.

Participants whose ATAS participation has been cancelled “must immediately take steps to remove any logo or reference to AFTA or ATAS from their website, business cards, any ancillary internet or social media sites…or any printed material used to promote your business,” AFTA warned.
