Virgin ceo and md will not renew his contract.
Virgin Australia chief John Borghetti has announced he will step down from his position as chief executive officer and managing director at the end of 2019.
No reason was given for the departure, however the airline said Borghetti had indicated he would not renew his contract beyond 01 Jan 2020 and wanted to provide ample time to recruit a replacement.
“I would like to acknowledge John’s enormous contribution to the Virgin Australia Group to date and thank him for his continued dedication,” said the carrier’s group chair Elizabeth Bryan.
