TD breaking news – Intrepid Travel makes US acquisition

Wildland Trekking significantly expands Intrepid’s American portfolio.

Intrepid Travel has just announced the acquisition of US-based tour company Wildland Trekking, adding 260 new trips to the Intrepid offering as part of a strategy to grow its share of the US domestic market.

The value of the deal was not disclosed, with the move following last year’s establishment of a dedicated North American operations DMC hub for Intrepid to help increase local capacity and ensure quality control.

Founded in 2005, Wildland Trekking offers a huge variety of itineraries, with the acquisition merging each company’s operations and business in the USA, and future plans to develop new trips in Alaska and the Canadian Rockies as well as building more winter season programs.

Wildland has almost 200 staff, who will all remain with the business “and play an integral role in the future growth of Intrepid’s US operations”.
