TD breaking news – Mike Thompson to leave Helloworld

Group GM Partnerships to step down effective 7th December.

Mike Thompson, Helloworld Travel’s Group General Manager Partnerships, is set to leave the company where he has been a senior executive for the last 18 years.

A memo sent to staff today by John Constable, Helloworld’s Group General Manager Retail, Commercial and Air Tickets, confirmed Thompson would depart at the end of next week.

As well as his extensive career at Helloworld and its predecessors Jetset Travelworld Group, Stella Travel and Travelscene American Express, Thompson has served the industry for a decade as Chairman of the Australian Federation of Travel Agents.

Constable said Thompson had “been talking with me for some time about his desire to devote more time to working with industry and outside boards”.

“The business relationships he leads have made great progress in recent years and he has decided that this is the right time to begin the next chapter of his life,” Constable said.
