US$10m Victoria Mekong to debut in Indochina from 2020.
Wendy Wu Tours has just confirmed it will build its first river cruise ship in Asia, with the 35-cabin Victoria Mekong set for commercial operations from 2020.
WWT will partner with Vietnamese firm TMG for the four-star vessel, with voyages to go on sale later this year or early in 2019.
“The ship will be good value, very comfortable, but not necessarily luxury,” said founder Wendy Wu.
She said there was strong demand for Mekong River cruising from WWT’s clientele, “and it means we can control our own destiny”.
Planned itineraries will see Victoria Mekong cruise between Can Tho in the Mekong Delta region and Phnom Penh, with a website detailing the voyage and planned vessel fitout online at www.victoriamekong.com.
